Where we source our Coffees from?
Many of our farmers have been tilling their lands ever since the British started growing more and more coffee on Indian land for profit. It is not just plantations, but a legacy of growing coffee that we are working with. We have coffees from Balanoor Estate, Crystal Valley Estate, Julian Peak and Velakadai Estate and Kudiraipanjan Estate.
What we believe in...
Kali is built on efficiency and expertise gained through years of intensive, on the job training in the hospitality industry. Our founder Ashwini Sawant has worked her way up to food and beverage departments and business development portfolios with leading names in the industry. That is where our emphasis on quality, hygiene, punctuality, and efficiency comes from. After working in the industry for more than nine years, she spent a couple of years traveling in the Himalayas, rediscovering her love for coffee in a spiritual sense. Kali was born with this passion for coffee, with an intricate understanding of the ins and outs of the food and beverage industry.
How we started...
The love for coffee often starts with chance encounters. For Ashwini, it started out with bunking classes and sipping cappuccinos at Cafe Coffee day. She worked at Hyatt Regency Mumbai and learned what it was like to be on the other side of the counter and jumped at every chance to learn about coffee. At this point, she knew Coffee was her passion. She completed the Kapishashtra from Coffee Board of India and became SCA certified and went on to work with many Coffee brands to understand the Indian market better. While she was trying to discover herself, she found Kali, a fierce form of Shakti. And that’s how Kali.Coffee was born. A cup of the intense black coffee which wakes you up from all illusions and makes you face reality.
Where are we headed...
We want to impact the coffee industry with our focus on three aspects:

Focus on Sustainability, Fair Trade, Good Farming Practices, Support Women Farmers.

To create a platform for Diverse Creative Expressions.
