Where we source our Coffees from?
Our philosophy around sourcing coffee is clear – we look for coffee that offers a distinct and delicious flavor, is sustainably & ethically produced and compliments our coffee program to best serve our clients. We hope to display the best characteristics of all the main regions and look for diversity in varietals and processing methods. We ensure that all the coffee we purchase is considered for ecological care and community development and that workers are treated and paid fairly. Right now we work with - Orchadale Estate, Kudiraipanjan Estate, Ratnagiri Estate, Stanmore Estate and MS Estate.
What we believe in...
From day one, our focus has been on developing a hub of coffee excellence that would service India – the country where some of the finest coffees are grown and roasted.We decided that it was time for Indians to drink high-quality coffee, poured by professionally trained baristas, using quality beans roasted with pride by a skilled artisan roaster.
How we started...
Our journey started in 2019, a bunch of adventure buffs who had fallen in love with all things coffee. We'd brew coffee on our treks and sip as we watched magnificent sunsets. On one such life changing trek at The Saltoro mountain ranges we felt called to start our own little Coffee Company and share the magic with the world. We were coffee-nerds, yes - but we didn't know nearly enough back then to start our own business. Still, we were sure that we were serious and that this is what we wanted to do. We wanted to create a brand that spoke of all the things we love. A celebration of coffee, music, art and life. And thus, the idea of Saltoro was born.
Where are we headed...
Our mission is to bring specialty coffee to life and push for the intersection of local economy, eco responsibility and ofcourse specialty coffee. There are many ways to practice fair, and even fairer trade, beyond the label of Fair Trade. We believe our ongoing relationship is more viable for the farmer, more sustainable for the industry, and fairer than handout schemes.
